Centre for Learning and Study Support (CLaSS): Effective Studying

Time Management Guide

There are two main aspects to effective time management.

  • Planning your time effectively
  • Actually doing the work

We will look at both of these aspects in this course and introduce you to a variety of strategies that you might find useful.

Top Tips for Creating learning Space at Home

Initially, the majority of your learning and teaching will take place online, and you will spend more time at home than on DMU campus.  For this reason, it is even more important to know WHEN, WHERE and HOW to study within your designated study area.

Notemaking

The following clips were recorded during a group mentoring session in which students put questions to our DMU staff mentors on topics they were concerned about. This selection of clips offers advice around effective studying. There is lively group discussion between staff and students and at times, conversations do overlap. Captions and transcripts are also available.
