How we handle your data

The team is governed by the Library and Learning Services (LLS) Directorate and as such adheres to LLS and DMU best practice in relation to your data. Data is processed in four ways by the team according to the services you engage with.

Tutorials and e-tutorials

By booking an tutorial with us you provide some basic information to allow your Learning Services tutor to provide you with the best help possible. This data is processed into a tutorial record. This record is available to all members of the Learning services team and will give an overview of what you are studying, what help you requested and details of what support we provided. Additionally your basic data is processed into an overview data visualisation dashboard, which helps us to identify trends and patterns with service users.

Workshops

When booking a workshop with us you provide basic information on who you are and what you are studying. Your name and programme of study is processed into a register which is made available to the workshop leader in order to tailor the session to best meet the needs of the group. Following the workshop basic data is processed into an overview data visualisation dashboard, which helps us to identify trends and patterns with service users.

Drop-in

Your attendance at drop-in is recorded via waitwhile. Your name and programme of study is collected on the session register which is made available to tutor in order to tailor the support provided. Following the drop-in basic data is processed into an overview data visualisation dashboard, which helps us to identify trends and patterns with service users.
