Visitor Information Membership: SCONUL

The SCONUL summer access scheme is now open. This allows students on taught courses at other universities to visit DMU's Kimberlin Library an unlimited number of times over the summer by showing a valid university student card. This scheme runs until Friday 20th September. Access times are Monday to Friday 9am - 5.20pm

Students and staff members from another university can join under the SCONUL scheme


SCONUL membership includes: 

  • access to Kimberlin Library
  • reference access to printed journals
  • use of open study spaces
  • access to the internet via Eduroam
  • borrowing rights (dependent on SCONUL band/category which is provided when you apply to SCONUL)

SCONUL membership does not include:

  • access to the Law Library and other Library spaces
  • access to online resources
  • loan of DVDs or other media and library stack items
  • bookable rooms

Application

Step 1: Apply online for the SCONUL access scheme 

Step 2: Once you have received an email confirming your SCONUL band and expiry date, apply for DMU library membership

To apply at DMU you must provide the following:

  • a passport-style photo
  • proof of address
  • University ID card
  • approval email from SCONUL

SCONUL also run a summer access scheme for students on taught courses at other universities to visit an unlimited number of times over the summer with a valid university student card. This scheme generally opens at DMU from the 3rd week of June and runs until the third week of September. Access times are Monday to Friday 9am - 5.20pm.
