Visitor Information Membership: School or College

Leicester/shire School and College Students


Students at schools and colleges in Leicester or Leicestershire may be eligible to apply for membership via one of the schemes outlined below. If you do not qualify to one of these schemes please visit the public membership details


Membership includes:

  • access to Kimberlin Library
  • reference access to printed journals
  • use of open study spaces

Membership does not include:

  • access to the Law Library and other Library spaces
  • access to online resources or the internet
  • loan of DVDs or other media and library stack items
  • bookable rooms

Leicester College Students over-18

Current students over-18 on non-DMU affiliated courses must contact Leicester College Library for a letter of approval prior to completing the DMU membership request form. The DMU membership request form can be accessed via the button at the bottom of this page.

To apply you must provide the following:

  • a passport-style photograph
  • proof of address
  • photographic ID
  • payment of £60 to be made following submission of your application - you will be contacted by one of our team

FE Students under-18

If you have a particular research need to access our collection, so there are particular items or collections that you need to access on a short term basis, such as for a current assignment, you can apply for temporary reference access by emailing the Director of Library and Learning Services, outlining what you need to access and on how many occasions.
