Library databases are online resources you can search to find reliable information from trusted sources. Databases can be general or subject specific and can include a wide range of content including full text journal articles, ebooks, reports, abstracts, conference proceedings etc.
Library Search is a database of databases and allows you to search the content of most databases in one go.
Here are some useful Fashion & Textiles databases. Unless otherwise specified, you will need your Single Sign On username and password (the same as for MyDMU and email) to access them within and outside the university.

To access The Fashion & Race Database (FRD) as a first-time user, you will need to verify your status as a DMU student or staff by logging in with your university Single Sign On account. You will then be asked to register a personal account with the resource by using your DMU email address. You will also have to accept the content provider's terms of use before your registration is processed.
To ensure that only valid DMU students/staff have access to The Fashion & Race Database, the provider requests that all registered users re-initialise their personal FRD accounts annually. This is a one-time step each year. If you are a registered FRD user and see a "Subscribe Now" blocking message, please re-initialise your account by visiting the FRD/DMU registration start page. This will ensure continuing access to FRD as an active member of DMU's community.

To activate a complimentary student membership or Student Plus they need to first click here, opt for their preferred membership and then follow the prompted instructions. They will then need to click on the link emailed to them and complete the student membership details asked for (including course, date of graduation etc) to access BOF Professional free-of-charge.
Free access is only available until date of graduation. Staff members experiencing issues will probably have reached their maximum number of years and will need to contact support@businessoffashion.com to extend.

Drapers is a source for authoritative business intelligence for the fashion industry in the UK and Irish Republic.
Users have to register with their DMU email address through the Drapers website to obtain institutional access on and off campus. There is no automatic connection to the site on campus.

EBSCO's Academic Search Premier is a multi-disciplinary database that provides active full text for more than 3,100 journals, including active full text for nearly 2,750 peer-reviewed titles.
Art Full Text is a comprehensive online resource for art information featuring full-text articles from more than 300 periodicals dating back to 1995, high-quality indexing and abstracting of over 600 periodicals dating as far back as 1984, including 280 peer-reviewed journals, as well as indexing and abstracting of over 13,000 art dissertations.
Indexing of almost 200,000 art reproductions provides examples of styles and art movements, including works by emerging artists. The database covers fine, decorative and commercial art, folk art, photography, film, and architecture, and also includes a database-specific thesaurus.
