Books are particularly useful for an introduction to or broad overview of a topic. The Library has both print books and E-Books and you will find both by searching Library Search. Textbooks available on Law Trove can be found by searching Library Search as well as directly from Law Trove.
Law books, especially legal practitioners' texts are also available from Westlaw Books. Not all the books on Westlaw are findable on Library Search. You can browse and search Westlaw books from this link.
Books about the same subject are assigned the same shelfmark number so will be grouped together on the shelves. You'll find the number on the spine of each book. Here is a selection of shelfmarks for UK Law:

You can search the contents of books from Google Books. But remember, most books are not available in full and the content available through Google Books can change from day to day.
