As these are accessed via a browser, you can work on files in the Cloud without having to open a Desktop app. This means you can work online on devices that does not have Office installed. You can also collaborate with others on these files. This can be in real-time or as shared documents. Great for project work with your classmates, where you are all working on one version of a file. Office files on your OneDrive can be opened within the browser to read or edit. You get the option to edit in-browser or open within the Desktop App. If Office is installed on your device, you can opt to edit your files this way. It will still save back to the cloud, so you can keep version control of your documents.
You can access Office Online via your student portal, MyDMU; or by signing in directly at Office.com with your student email credentials and single-sign-on. Here you will also see your student Outlook email account. There are other Online Apps with your subscription, such as To Do, Sway, MS Forms, and many more.
