Open Access: What do I do to meet funder requirements?

Funder Open Access Requirements

Different funders have slightly different Open Access requirementsThe sections below detail the Open Access requirements for each of DMU's main funders. If your funder isn't included in these sections, and you are unsure about your funder's requirements, please contact openaccess@dmu.ac.uk for advice.

UKRI (Research Councils & Innovate UK)

Open Access funding

DMU has a small fund to cover Open Access charges for articles in fully open access journals/conference proceedings/platforms.  This fund is available for DMU researchers publishing from UKRI-funded research or from research without external funding (or with funding that doesn't cover Open Access charges).  Before applying, please read the eligibility criteria.   

Online application formUse the online application form to apply for this fund (N.B. You will need to sign in using your DMU Single Sign On).

Horizon Europe

Please be aware that due to the uncertainty surrounding the UK's participation in Horizon Europe, the requirements for UK researchers are not entirely clear.  DMU's Open Access team has produced a flowchart based on our understanding of what's required, but please check with your funders and partners.
