Statistics: Labour

ILO database of labour statistics (ILOSTAT) provides multiple datasets with annual and infra-annual labour market statistics for over 100 indicators and 230 countries, areas and territories. The Yearly indicators dataset contains standardized indicators for purposes of greater comparability across countries and relies heavily on the official submission of data by national authorities. The Short term indicators dataset contains monthly, quarterly and semi-annual data drawn from official websites of national authorities and is updated on a monthly basis. The Economically Active Population, Estimates and Projections (EAPEP) dataset contains country estimates and projections of the total population, labour force, and participation rates by sex and age.

Nomis is the Web site for the official UK labour market statistics. It gives access to the most up-to-date and detailed labour market data produced from official sources. Nomis is a free service provided by National Statistics but you have to register for an ID and password in order to access it.

Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings. Replacing the New Earnings Survey in 2004 ASHE presents detailed data in tables on earnings and hours paid for employees within industries, occupations and regions.

A monthly releases by the ONS and a key guide to the current economic indicators (e.g. prices, unemployment, trade interest rates and exchange rates) and labour market data.
