Schools' Visits: How to use the Library

Library Catalogue

The Library Catalogue provides details of the books and journals held within DMU's libraries.

Online material that is licensed to the university is not available to external users.

The catalogue can be accessed remotely or using a catalogue PC within the library.

What CAN'T I use?

Some services are only available to current students because of service demand or licensing restrictions and we are unable to make these available to school students. These include:

  •  Access to licensed e-resources, such as ebooks and ejournals
  •  Access to IT facilities (PCs and printing), slide and video collections
  •  Laptop loans
  •  Fashion predictions.

Print journals

The Kimberlin Library has a large collection of print journals on lots of different subjects from architecture to youth work on the Lower Ground Floor of the building. These are arranged in alphabetical order on rolling shelves. Take care when moving the shelves and please follow the instructions.

Library Regulations

All users are bound by library regulations. Access and membership are provided at the discretion of the Director of Library and Learning Services.
