Zotero is a free, open-source tool to help you collect, organise, cite, and share research. This guide provides links to comprehensive resources to get you started with Zotero version 7 (2024). Click the tabs below to explore each topic.

Please note that the university doesn't support the download of Zotero onto university computers. Use the web version of Zotero, download onto your own computer, or use a fully web-based tool such as Mendeley.

Please note that Zotero has not yet received formal approval for download onto university devices. 

 

Select your chosen referencing style and other settings

  1. Under Edit in the top menu bar in the Zotero client select Settings
  2. Select "Cite"
  3. Select one of the pre-installed styles e.g. Cite Them Right Harvard 12th ed
  4. If you want a style not listed, click on "get additional styles" to search for and select the style you want.
