Postal Loans: Home

Requesting items to be sent to me

The library offers two sets of request services to our students: those for students studying on distance learning courses, and for students who are not currently coming onto campus / into Leicester because they are living elsewhere in their family home.

Please click below for the request services that meet your needs.  Please be aware that there are costs associated with the postal loan book services and the postal article request services, as these are run on a cost-recovery basis.  The costs of the services for distance learners and for students based away from campus are the same in each case.

The rules around book loans that apply when you're on campus, such as fines for late return and the need to return books which have been reserved, also apply to postal loan items, so you would need to bring back / post items you receive via postal loan if they are reserved by other students.

Living at a Distance

If you usually come onto campus to attend lectures at DMU, but are currently living away from campus / not able to come onto campus, please use the links below to request the postal loan of library books and copies of journal articles, where electronic copies of the book / article are not available.

Distance Learners

If you are studying on a distance learning course at DMU, click here for details of our postal loan and article request services.
