Student Identity

Your identity is important to you, it makes you, uniquely you. Your DMU Student Identity is the same. You would not share your personal credentials, such as a bank card or passport with anyone, and De Montfort University requires you not to share your student credentials either.

Your student credentials are:

DMU Student Card

Gives you and you alone access to:

  • physical spaces on campus (including library spaces)
  • borrow library books or laptops
  • use of printer/scanners

DMU Username and Password

Gives you access to your accounts:

  • computers on campus
  • DMU Library resources: eBooks, journals, databases and other resources
  • DMU systems: DMU student portal, Email Account, LearningZone, MS365, MS Teams

Your card and username and password represent your identity whilst a registered student at De Montfort University. Under DMU’s General Regulations the misuse or sharing of student credentials is fraudulent – just the same as if your personal credentials where misused or shared - De Montfort University classifies this as misconduct and is subject to disciplinary action.
