Getting Help: Home

We are here to help

Need help locating physical items on the shelf? Wondering which learning space is right for you? Struggling to use our PCs or you own device? Then seek help from us. We are friendly, knowledgeable and will do our best to help. If we are not able to answer your query, we will point you to someone who can.

Help within our Library Spaces

During staffed hours, Library staff are at hand at our information points in the Kimberlin Library and the Hugh Aston Law Library.

Library staff also rove throughout the libraries. They wear library lanyards so you can identify them and ask them for any help or directions you need.

For times when staff are available see here.

Help online and via telephone

For help when you are outside the Library, you can contact us via our:

  • JustAsk LibChat service available 24/7.
  • JustAsk email service available during staffed hours. We aim to respond to enquiries submitted via the Just Ask form within 24 hours, although it is usually much quicker.
  • JustAsk telephone 0116 257 7042 answered 09.00-19.30 (Mon - Fri) and 11.00-17.00 (Sat / Sun)
  • You can also search our FAQ pages.

The Kimberlin Library Trail: The Library trail is an introduction to the library and what we can offer, for new and returning DMU students. You can use the trail as a guide around the building.

For help with your studies try the I Need Help With... pages.

The team also offers confidential one-to-one advice and guidance to help any student with particular needs. Specialist provision includes access to Assistive Technology and extended book loans. Find out more about Library Disability Services here

If you have a comment or suggestion about our services, you may prefer to use the feedback form rather than submit an enquiry.
