Dare to Be Mentoring                                                   

Dare to Be is a mentoring scheme open to all DMU students.  

The scheme matches DMU students with a trained mentor in order to help students develop: 

  • Confidence 
  • Self-belief 
  • Motivation 

At the heart of the scheme is a focus on attainment: supporting students to do well in their studies and reach their full potential. 

How does it work? 

Students attend a welcome event to find out more about the scheme and to prepare them for their first mentoring meeting. We then go on to match student mentees to a trained mentor for one-to-one mentoring. Matches are made based on the skills students want to develop and the expertise and interests of our mentors.
