Peer mentoring @ DMU

Mentoring for All @ DMU

Supporting student learning, development and achievement

CLaSS Banner

The university offers a variety of mentoring opportunities for students and staff.
We have peer to peer mentoring, which involves students working with other students to support their learning. We also have mentoring to help you settle into university life, and to improve your employability skills for when you complete your studies.

“Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be."
Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring

Mentoring allows students with different levels of experience to work with one another for mutual benefit.
Mentoring is becoming an increasingly important part of learning at university and to harness this we have several mentoring schemes available to students:

Dare to Be
Helps improve student attainment and enables students to do well in their studies

Helps new students settle into life at DMU and aims to make your time at DMU a success

International Student Buddies (i-Buddies)
Helps new international students settle into university and meet other students

Employability Mentoring
For students who want to learn more from those in industry to help them to improve their employability

Faculty Based Mentoring
