Finding material from other UK libraries

                                                                                      

If a book, or journal article, is not available in the DMU library or through one of the databases it may be possible to get a copy through the Inter Library Loan Service

British Library

There may be a range of information that you want to use that you know is available at the British Library in London.

 

  • Over 170 million items including many rare, valuable and unique items
  • Look at the website to see what the collection includes
  • Apply online for a free readers pass and reserve items before you visit

Check before you visit to ensure you have proof of address and signature with you- full information available

Visiting other UK University libraries

 

SCONUL Access is a reciprocal scheme which allows library users to use books and journals at other libraries which belong to the scheme, The scheme covers most of the university libraries in the UK and Ireland.

Online Research networks

Researchers will often also use online research networks to share versions of their published research where copyright permits.  So it is always worth checking these sources as well to see if you can obtain the full-text of the article you need.

The two main sources are research gate and academia.edu
