Set up Multifactor authentication (MFA) to securely access email and MS 365 apps off campus
Enhanced extra security authentication layer
To further protect your account and our systems you will be required to set up MFA when accessing your email or other MS365 apps off campus.
Very simlilar to other systems for example if you have a personal Google account, you may be asked to 'prove your authentication' when you login into these systems.
Options to setup preferred MFA
You have options on how you can setup your MFA
- Mobile Text Message (SMS)
- Download the MicroSoft Authenticator App on your mobile
You will only need to set this up once

How do I start to setup MFA?
- In your web browser go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup
- Sign in with your student email in the format Pnumber@my365.dmu.ac.uk (use your Pnumber) and DMU password
- Follow the on screen instructions to select your preferred method
