Dubai Computing and Englineering subject guide: Useful Websites

Finding Open Access Research

Video websites

The Ri Channel forms part of the Royal Institution's mission to "connect people to the world of science". Watch science videos from the Ri and across the web.

The Exploratorium isn’t just a museum; it’s an ongoing exploration of science, art, and human perception—a vast collection of online interactives, web features and activities. You can also view the Secret Life of Machines, a series of cartoon films written by Tim Hunkin explaining how common machines work.

Images

Over 1700 images from the archives and historic book collection of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) are now available online via VADS

The archive charts the history of the Institution and of mechanical engineering, covering topics from railways to manufacturing, spanning the late 1800’s to the late 1900’s.

Highlights include works of art of Liverpool & Manchester Railway to images of Napier engines: and from design drawings of locomotives by David Joy to construction photographs of Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Great Eastern.
