Your personal tutor

Your Personal Tutor

You should have been given the name of your Personal Tutor when you first enrolled at DMU. If for some reason this didn’t happen or you have forgotten their name, please contact your Faculty Student Advice Centre (SAC):

ADH: adhadvice@dmu.ac.uk

BAL: studentadvicecentre@dmu.ac.uk

CEM: cemadvicecentre@dmu.ac.uk

HLS: hls.advice.centre@dmu.ac.uk

Your Personal Tutor is your personal guide through your studies at DMU and can help and support you by:

  • listening to your queries or concerns and offering advice and guidance.
  • signposting you to specialist support within the university.
  • discussing your academic progress with you.
  • supporting you with your personal development planning (e.g. employability; opportunities for extra-curricular activity and experiences such as volunteering).

You will get the most from your Personal Tutor by:

  • responding promptly to communications (e.g. e-mail) from them.
  • accepting invitations to meet with them to discuss academic progress and personal development planning.
  • keeping them informed of any circumstances which might be affecting your studies and progress.
  • If you have any queries at all about personal tutoring, please contact the University Senior Tutor at dcleplay@dmu.ac.uk.

DMU Sport

DMUsport delivers a wide range of opportunities to help students stay physically active and look after their mental health whilst studying at DMU.

We want everyone to feel they can get involved. You do not have to be a "sporty" person, in fact thousands of students get involved every year, trying new activities, meeting new people, taking a break from studies and learning new sports.

Whether you're a beginner, are looking for casual opportunities, would like a little competition or to join a club environment, or are interested in more serious sport including sport scholarships, you can find an appropriate sporting opportunity at DMU.

Employability and Security
