There is the facility to send emails in a Blackboard module if you’re tutor has set this up in the Blackboard module. If this has been set up you can choose to send emails to your tutors, everyone in the module or to specific individuals. Note that email addresses are usually generally supressed from view. If the email facility is not available in the Blackboard module, and you need to conta ct your tutors there should be a ‘Staff contact or information’ menu link within the Blackboard module with contact details.
To send an email within a Blackboard module
1. Select Send Email from within the course menu
Note that if you see a ‘Tools’ option in the course menu, there is the ‘Send Email’ option from here too.
2. Choose which category you would like to use to send your email
3. Enter the Subject and Message field. Add attachments if required. To send scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the Submit button. Note that you can receive a receipt of the email by selecting the ‘Return Receipt’ checkbox.
