Borrow, Renew, Return: Home

How we’re adapting our Borrowing Service to the current Lockdown:

This means that all items out on loan now will not have to be returned before Easter, and ensures you don’t have to make non-essential journeys onto campus to return items before the lockdown has ended.

Again, this is to prevent students making non-essential journeys onto campus to return items that have been requested. Electronic copies of books are available where we’ve been able to provide them.

If you want to return items at a quieter time, please use this unit to return borrowed items when we’re closed. We’ll take the items off your library record when our staff next open the library.

Borrowing

Current DMU staff and students are able to borrow up to 24 books at a time.  Please choose from the links below for arrangements to borrow books from our Law Library (for items relating to our Law courses) and our Kimberlin Library (for all other stock).

Renewing

Many of our borrowed items automatically renew until you return them, unless they’re requested by another person.

Returning

At present, only our Kimberlin library is open for the return of items; both Law and Kimberlin items can be returned to the Kimberlin Library.

Requesting items be sent to me

The Library Service has two sets of request services available - for students who are studying on distance learning courses at DMU, and for students who are currently living away from campus.

Click below for more details on how to request books and journal articles, which are not available electronically, via these services.
